Due to our broad client base, our workload is constantly increasing and we are looking for an Intermediate Structural Technologist to join our team environment. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate Structural Plan drawings, Structural Sections and Details from Architectural drawings
- Manage Structural drafting work on various projects independently
or work within a team with marginal supervision
- Co-ordinate Structural drawings with other consultants on various projects
- Review shop drawings of Structural elements independent on various projects
- Review and assess content and quality of drawings
- Monitor and manage time budgets on work performed
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong and clear communication in English, both written and verbal
- Intermediate – minimum 5 years proven industry related experience
- Certificate/diploma in Structural Drafting Technology from Technical Collage or Institute
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the ASTT in British Columbia
- At least 2 years in BC preparing Structural documents for a variety of projects
- A strong understanding of construction assemblies in Wood, Steel, Masonry and Concrete buildings, especially with traditional Canadian Wood Frame Construction
- Team player with proven experience in working with project teams
- Strong AutoCAD and Structural Graphics Standards skills
- Familiarity with Revit Structural an asset, for the possibility of expanding the company’s drafting capabilities
- Open, willing and hungry to learn and to continue to upgrade technical knowledge and skills
- Proven ability to conceptualize Architectural and Structural elements in three dimensions
- Demonstrated aptitude for working with Existing Structures
- Proven ability to understand detailing requirements based on structure type, and independently complete details to code requirements
- Service and client/customer orientated
