Intermediate Structural Technologist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other technologists and engineers as required by the project
- Generate Structural plans, sections, and details from Architectural drawings
- Manage Structural drafting work on various projects independently or as part of a team
- Coordinate Structural drawings with other consultants on various projects
- Review shop drawings of Structural elements independently
- Review and assess content and quality of drawings
- Monitor and manage time budgets on work performed
- Organize structural engineering drafting standards and detailing library
Intermediate Structural Technologist Skills and Attributes :
- Certificate/diploma in Structural Drafting Technology from Technical Collage or Institute
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the ASTT in British Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of Structural Engineering drafting experience working on building projects in BC / Canada utilizing AutoCAD. Revit experience an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction assemblies and detailing in conventional wood framing, heavy timber, reinforced concrete, masonry, and structural steel buildings
- An aptitude to work with existing structures
- Strong AutoCAD and Structural Graphics Standards skills
- Proven ability to utilize 3D model programs such as Revit, Sketch-Up, or other 3D software
- Proven ability to conceptualize Architectural and Structural elements in three dimensions
- Self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and continue upgrading technical knowledge
- Team player who enjoy collaborating with project team members
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Passionate appreciation for Architectural designs
- Service and client/customer orientated
